You'll soon be able to earn Microsoft Rewards points from Microsoft Search

Microsoft will soon allow users to earn Microsoft Rewards points by using Microsoft Search with their organizational accounts, according to a new item added to the Microsoft 365 roadmap. The feature is currently in development and planned for May.

Microsoft Rewards is - you guessed it - Microsoft's rewards program, which gives users points for doing things like searching with Bing or buying items on the Microsoft Store. As users earn points, they can then be exchanged for rewards like Microsoft Store gift cards. The program is available in 20 countries, a list of which you can find here.

Meanwhile, Microsoft Search is a search engine designed for organizations, which lets users search for information inside their organization as well as on the web in a single unified experience. It leverages Microsoft Graph to surface relevant information so that it can be accessed more easily. Microsoft Search can be used in a variety of endpoints, including Bing.com when logged into an organizational account.

While users could already earn Rewards points for using Bing with their personal account, expanding this to Microsoft Search is a welcome incentive. It's not currently known if points will be earned at the same rate as with typical Bing searches, but we've reached out to Microsoft for clarification and we'll update this post if we hear back.
