Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update is now rolling out to carrier-locked devices

Microsoft today finally began rolling out the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update for carrier-locked devices. As expected, the news comes exactly one week after it was released to unlocked phones.

The build that you'll be seeing is 14393.67, despite 14393.82 having been in the Release Preview ring for a week as well. It's likely, however, that even if and when build 14393.82 hits the Production ring, it will show up for factory unlocked devices first.

The Anniversary Update contains a number of new features for Windows phone users. For one thing, select phones now have tap-to-pay. You'll also find a brand-new Skype Preview app where the old Windows Phone 8 app used to be. You can check out our review for more.

To get the update, you'll need to already be running Windows 10 Mobile. Once you are, go to Settings -> Update & security -> Phone update -> Check for updates. Unlike last time, you don't need to opt-in through the Upgrade Advisor app. If you've got Windows 10, you've got an update coming.

Note that it's entirely possible that some carrier-locked devices aren't receiving the update just yet. If your phone isn't showing any updates, be patient. Microsoft has begun rolling it out, so it should be available soon.
