Windows Insider head Gabe Aul promoted to VP of WDG Engineering Systems

If you've been following Microsoft's progress with Windows 10 over the last few months or if you're registered with the Insider Program, chances are you've heard of Gabe Aul, the head of the Windows Insider Program. He has now been promoted within the company.

Gabe can often be seen answering questions on Twitter, and it seems that his dedication has now paid off. Previously the General Manager of the Data and Fundamentals, he has assumed the mantle of Vice President of Engineering for the Windows and Devices Group, the recently formed division when Elop left the company and Nadella combined the departing Microsoft executive's division with Myerson's Windows Group. He is expected to work on the "core engineering processes and tools", though he has promised that he will continue to work with the Insider Program, though it's not entirely clear if he will still lead the program or just lend a helping hand.

Regardless, Aul is one of the most helpful sources of information for anything Microsoft and we wish him all the best with his new position. If you are in the Insider Program or enjoy Windows 10, he is, in large part, responsible for their success so give a shout out to him at @GabeAul and congratulate him.
